Don’t Need A Weatherman of the Day: KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo has an on-air hissy fit after time constraints force the station to cut his forecast.
Surprisingly, neither Chris Schauble nor co-anchor Megan Henderson seize the opportunity to poke fun at DiCarlo for “storming off.”
While this is funny, it’s also a real problem. Some guys take it like Henry, while others have a more constructive answer.
Kevin Selle of Texas Cable News has devoted an (almost) entire website to the topic of what to do with less air time and has some occasionally interesting tidbits on how the TV weatherman can survive in the world of TV news today.
Bottom line is I still watch the local news mainly for the weather. I’m sure I’m not alone. It may be a dying industry but it can at least go gracefully.
